About the Program
Student Management Group (SMG)'s high school programs offer participants the opportunity to study in both public and private schools of various countries. SMG's team is comprised of staff with more than 20 years of experience in the field of exchange programs. SMG's priority is an individual approach to each student, which ensures the selection of the best educational program. Depending on the specific program and country, students are placed in both private boarding schools and host families. Participants become full members of the local school community.
Schools are selected based on various criteria, including - location, program duration, location, available academic courses, sports, extracurricular activities, and others.
SMG's programs are divided into two categories - Basic and Choice. Both programs provide high-quality school education and cultural integration.
Basic - School by the principle of randomness
- Accommodation: Host family with three meals a day.
- School: Placement in a public school, school program of the selected country.
- Age: 14-18
- Duration: Short-term: 1-4 weeks, long-term: from 1 trimester to 2 years
- Language of instruction: French
Additionally:
- 4-day orientation program in Paris +680 Euro
- Choosing the preferred region + 2000 Euro:
- Mediterranean Sea coast
- Atlantic Ocean coast
- English Channel (Channel Sea) coast
- Pyrenees
- Urban (city) zone
Choice - specific private school
- Accommodation: family or student residence with three meals a day.
- School: placement in a day or boarding private school, school curriculum of the selected country or IB.
- Age: 11-19
- Duration: min. 1 academic year
- Language of instruction: it is possible to choose French or English
The program provides maximum integration into the academic environment and the most diverse opportunities for the adolescent's personal development.

French educational system
The French educational system is distinguished by high academic standards. Program participants will attend classes in local lyceums (lycée) from Monday to Friday inclusive, although Saturday classes may also be included in the academic schedule. The school day, as a rule, starts at 08:30 and ends at 17:30.
Lower Secondary Education ISCED 2 - lower secondary education, from 11 to 15 years old, during which French students take core subjects.
Upper Secondary Education ISCED 3 - students choose 1) general (generale), 2) technological (technologique) or 3) vocational (professionnel) lyceum (lycee). Each specialization lasts 3 years and prepares students to obtain the secondary education qualification (baccalaureat). This diploma opens the way to higher education and gives them the right to enroll in university.
- The academic year starts in September and ends in June
- Schedule: Monday to Friday schedule (Wednesday afternoon is a free day, some exams are held on Saturday)
- Up to 30 students in a class
- 8 to 12 subjects, subjects vary by class
- Extracurricular activities are usually organized outside of school
- As a rule, students buy lunch in the school cafeteria
- In French schools, great attention is paid to discipline, compliance with rules is strictly controlled
